When classical Cellist Ben Tarlton asked us to film an entire concert in the beautiful eerie St Illituds Church in Llantwit Major, we jumped at the opportunity!
Supporting Ben in creating this unique online concert was an opportunity we couldn't pass upon. With Ben being a local to the Vale of Glamorgan, where LUNA TIDES Productions is based, it was only natural that this collaboration took place.
Over the course of three days, we captured the amazing performances of the following artists:
Concert 1
Yume Fujise - Violin
Juliette Roos - Violin
Alinka Rowe - Viola
Ben Tarlton - Cello
Concert 2
Eva Aronian - Violin
Eddie Pogossian - Cello
Concert 3
Samuel Staples - Violin
Jams Coleman - Piano
Ben Tarlton - Cello
Ben was selected as a 2021 Royal Over-Seas League String Finalist and in 2020, a Guildhall Gold Medal Finalist, performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto with The Guildhall Symphony Orchestra. Concert highlights include an Award-winners’ Recital at Wigmore Hall, Recitals at St James’s Church Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields, Brahms’s Double Concerto at St John’s Smith Square and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time at Cambridge Summer Music Festival, performing with Bengt Forsberg. In February 2020 he gave the UK Premier of Anders Hillborg’s work ‘Duo’ for Cello and Piano in a BBC ‘Total Immersion’ Concert in Milton Court Concert Hall which The Guardian commented ‘here…Ben Tarlton and Ben Smith did wonders with it, playing with extraordinary precision and insight.’
